Brandon's Auto Restoration

Below you can view my work in progress.  Scroll to bottom for finished chassis photo!

This is in my shop before getting started. In the last few years I have purchased all my own tools, including air compressor, torches, welding machines, sandblaster, so I think I have enough to get started.
Lifting off the frame.  This was a good feeling--like I had accomplished something. This is my friend Brandon Buckley helping me.
At this point everything is in a hundred thousand parts in different stacks and buckets all over the shop.  Here I am pressing a bearing off the pinion gear.  This was in Ray Williamson's shop.
The new sandblasting cabinet--it is awesome!  If anyone needs sandblasting let me know.
I have now invested in my own blasting pot since there will be hours of sandblsting.  Here I am working on the frame.
An awesome rear differential.  Who would have thought it could look like that!  Actually I ended up sanding and repainting it to make it look better.
Priming with new spray gun--the one before I got the even better one!  you can never have enough of the right tools.  My grandpa says "buy cheap, buy twice."
Had to replace the front crossmember.  Someone had welded this big plate on the old one.  Found one from Ken Parker near Tyler, TX.  Taking out rivets was a bit of a task but got it done.
Here is Ray helping me with the transmission.  I loved this part.
See the Body Work page for more details on this body.  11/1 I have just started seriously working on the body.
Decided to redo the work on the chassis to get it up to professional standards.  Here I am with Ray painting. He doesn't let me miss one spot.  I got a new Devilbiss Millenium GTI spray gun--can't wait to use it. I am planning on building a new shop so I can get properly set up for more restoration work.  I don't even want to talk about how much money I've spent on parts and supplies.  But it will be so worth it when it is all finished.
The engine is finished---and runs!  This came from the car I got from Joe Domino.  She sounds beautiful.

Next photo below is finished chassis.
